没想到在美国的第一个中秋是在bar里过的 说来非常蹊跷
因为收受了然一个牛逼月饼(有人问我怎么个牛逼法 就是超级好吃 而且吃了不用担心得结石!)的贿赂 就陪着去了 没想到把自己也搭进去了
这是一间在kirkwood avenue(算是这个大学小镇最繁华奢靡的一条街吧)上的酒吧 叫nicks
和然, 还有jessie 一起晃荡到酒吧门口 马上就有hot girl提着个小桶上来叽里呱啦说一通
原以为是来拉客的 没想到她是在给当地的一家儿童医院募集慈善款
很牛逼也很聪明 居然在半夜 在所有人都在玩在闹的时候 自己一人在酒吧门口募款

在美国 21周岁以下是禁止买酒或者进入酒吧会所的 所以必须携带有照片的证件以获得进入的许可 而在酒吧门口 通常会有一个或数个彪形大汉 电影里多半是黑人 叉着双臂检查每个人的ID
我 没把护照带在身边 却从兜里掏出一张很牛逼的东西 叫做身份证 对 就是它 中华人民共和国的身份证 那大汉也叽里呱啦说一通 什么cock cock的 我以为他在说中国的版图像公鸡... 搞半天人家是在问我今年是不是鸡年... 这个non-sense的问题让我很崩溃... 因为上面写着1986年出生和鸡年好像没什么关系... 不过伟大的祖国很好很强大 我用身份证混进了酒吧

酒吧其实不大 但是有好多好多的人 其密度绝对不亚于杭州交通高峰的k900 天哪 难道人家的乐趣就是喝酒吗
在这里我发现有好多法学院的JD学生 每周末都有一批JD学生过来这边发泄 因为每周都会被法学院的professor和厚厚的课本搞成神经衰弱 sigh...

人很多 很难找位置 就跑到旁边的吧台 叫了3杯budlight bear 然后就开始一边八卦一边喝酒
后 来vincent也来了 我们就去叫了一桶啤酒 开始玩sink and drink(把空杯子放在装满酒的酒桶里 每个人轮流往空被子里倒啤酒 如果谁让杯子沉了 就得把杯子捞出来 一饮而尽) 喝了不少 我的脸都超级赛亚人变身了好几回 high完就晃晃悠悠地回家了 睡醒了 头还有点痛... 泡了杯茶 从slow cooker里捞出从昨天炖到现在的香菇笋干排骨 开始解酒

和家人和朋友们视频聊天道完中秋快乐 天阴沉沉的 窗外刮着诡异的凉风 然和jessie还没有起床 我感觉我这个有点疯狂的周末必须结束了 在这里 有月饼吃 我已经很满足了

我在这里还有很多很多的计划 甚至是crazy plan
我会一个一个去实现我的计划 但是现在我得去看书了

Etiquette Dinner

今天去了etiquette dinner

这是我第一次穿自己的西装 太牛逼了 可惜第一次传西装就破相了

因为赶着去一公里外的IMU (Indiana Memorial Union)参加晚餐会 不得不跨上我的山地车

我真觉得我成IU的一道风景了 我这辈子都没穿得这么牛逼过 骑着山地车

朋友都说我可以穿着这个去参加APEC会议 呵呵

到了IMU才发现原来就我和多啦穿得最正式 连领带都打了 这些美国的JD学生一个个都土死了 甚至有穿T-SHIRT来的 不由得我暗暗佩服 又一次感觉了到这个国家自由的气息

娘的 我终于会吃西餐了 可是西餐这么难吃 我干吗要学呢 真是脑子坏掉了

Today, I went to the etiquette dinner. It was my first opportunity to put on my suit. Awesome! But the fact is that the first time is always not easy. I was in a hurry to IMU, which is 1 mile away from my apartment. I had to ride my bike to catch the dinner on time.

That made me become a special scene of IU. I mean, i was riding a bicycle, wearing the best suit i could ever get! How silly would that be? My friend joked me that i could be one of those powerful guys at APEC summit.

It was not until I arrived at IMU when I found that DLzM was the person who best explained the meaning of professional dressing - I couldn't believe that he had even put on his tie! On the contrary, American JD students are casually dressed. Some were even just with T-shirts. The aura and spirit of liberty in this country gripped my heart again. It's just hard to resist.

SO, FINALLY, I learned how to eat, in a western manner!

But as bad the western food taste, why bother learning the most tedious way to disappoint myself?

美国是个神奇的地方（一）

来美国二十天了 居然没有写一个字

刚到的时候对这里没什么感觉 一个字"乡下"-_-！

也许来之前本来就没什么期盼吧 从浦东起飞 到芝加哥转机 印第安纳波利斯降落

一路上浑浑噩噩的 有空就倒头大睡 虽然临窗坐着 却几乎没有看过风景

飞过日本都市的时候看过一眼 太平洋上看过一眼 美国中部田野上看过一眼

见到芝加哥的第一感觉就是天真tmd蓝 而且连芝加哥这种老工业 全美第三大城市的绿化都这么牛x

虽然没有杭州西湖那么秀 但是总体绿化比杭州要好太多

飞机晚点 入关人又多 排队异常着急 眼看要延误了转机的时间 向工作人员请求优先

却被拒绝了 原来有很多其他人也赶不上connection flight

没有办法只能干等了 快轮到我的时候 前面有一个人被海关卡住了 原因竟然是那个

中国人不会说英文 check-in的young lady也不会说中文 我立马上去说我是中国来的会

英文然后给海关mm当起来翻译 原来那个中国人是国内公司派来芝加哥培训的

没有和其他同事排在一个窗口 海关mm 十分感谢我 就直接开始看我的材料 然后秒过 然后

我居然奇迹般的在最后三分钟赶上了去indianapolis的班机

下了飞机 找到了iucssa接机的朋友 却没等到我的行李 去托运部一问 原来我的行李

被滞留芝加哥了（可怜） 那个大叔看了看list还开玩笑问我 你是上海那边过来的吧？

上海过来的行李总是出问题噢！

汗颜 没辙 只能乖乖去bloomington等我的行李

cssa的朋友很nice 带我去了kroger（超市级别的杂货店）和wal-mart（沃尔玛） 买了洗漱用品和一个pad（铺在床垫上的薄薄的垫子）

我把这个pad做成一个榻榻米当床睡 想不到我后来睡了一个星期的榻榻米

Hard silence

Yesterday The State Council declared the next 3 days the national days of mourning and appealed the public for three minutes grief from 2:28pm May 19. Air raid sirens, cars, trains and ship horns were wailing in grief when the people fell silent. Web pages turn grey, public entertainment is suspended, flag is at half-mast. It's one of the few times that I feel the power of solidarity in China. Nobody could be indifferrent.

Skype is good

It was my first time to make a call to a foreign country. I was calling to withdraw my application. The secretary at UIUC speaks quickly with a sweet voice. She is really nice. Though being nervous a little bit, I managed to speak in a fairly fluent way. At least, we have no difficulty in understanding each other. The most amazing point is that Skype only charged me 0.09 EUR, that is just 1 RMB for the 3 minutes international long-distance call. Bravo! I do love it.

As you may know, the choice of which Law School to pursue one's LLM study is always critical and really not easy. Finally, I reached my decision. After rejecting UIUC, I would definitely go to Indiana U-Bloomington School of Law, a so generous Institution. Located in the gorgous Bloomington which means the "town of blooming", the picturesque campus view ranks within top 5 among the American Universities.

While typing, I received an email from Cornell who finally began to review my application materials. God, Jesus! Though there is tiny chance that I would choose Cornell, I wish to get an Ivy admission, not rejection. I hate rejection.
